The High-intensity Activated crossWalK or HAWK signaling system is a combination of a beacon flasher and traffic control signaling technique for marked pedestrian and bike trail crossings.
The HAWK was invented by the Tucson AZ DOT who produced this video.

This is a proposed detour through the parking area of the Penn and Drexel Campus parking areas. It is the old alignment for 32nd St behind Franklin Field in Philadelphia's University City.
I-95 was shut down for a two mile stretch on March 18, 2007. The roadway at the lower end of the photo is I-95 Northbound, the fast moving highway to the right is the ramp to the Vine St Expressway.
Crossing the bridge. The pedestrian walkway is closed during construction. The Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge Commission has recently instituted a bike ped shuttle service.
