How to apply tape to a drywall joint. Place mud on, wet the tape slightly, squeeze the excess drywall mud out the sides as you press down with the taping knife.

Taping drywall corners is like taping regular joints. Press down one side, then the other, squeezing excess mud out the sides. Pull the drywall tape down if it bunches up.
Two kids age 11 & 12, as part of their 4H project, repair a large hole in a drywall panel. They mark out a square around the damage, cut it out, attach nailers, and then cut out and attach a repair piece. They do a great job!
